Set out on an unforgettable 16-day trek through the majestic Karakoram Mountains. This journey takes you to Rakaposhi Base Camp, the breathtaking Rush Lake, and the vibrant Hunza and Nagar Valleys. Hike across glaciers, enjoy stargazing in remote camps, and connect with local communities through home-cooked meals and visits to historic forts. Perfect for adventure lovers, trekkers, and nature enthusiasts looking for both challenge and cultural immersion.
Welcome to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, known for its modern elegance and natural beauty. Meet with your Venus Trails team and you’ll be escorted to your hotel. In the afternoon a short orientation walk around the hotel helps reset your body clock; this is a calm day focused on preparing you physically and mentally. In the evening there’s a full briefing covering safety, trekking logistics, cultural etiquette, and the environmental practices we follow on every trip.
Fly to Skardu (weather permitting) or drive the Karakoram Highway. Skardu is a high-altitude hub with Balti culture, bazaars, and riverside views. Use this day for gear checks and acclimatization.
Drive through Hunza Valley, passing terraced fields, rivers, and snow-capped peaks. In the evening, explore the local market or relax at the hotel and prepare for the upcoming trek.
Journey to Hoper Valley, with magnificent glacier views, then continue to Berichokore. Here, trekking preparations begin and you enjoy your first camp under the starry Karakoram sky.
Begin trekking through alpine meadows and streams toward Chidin Harai. The gradual climb opens views of surrounding glaciers. Camp overnight with excellent stargazing.
Ascend to Rush Lake, a turquoise alpine gem ringed by snow-clad peaks. Evening stargazing at this high camp is unforgettable.
Optional ascent of Rush Peak (5,489m) for experienced trekkers. From the summit, panoramic views of Rakaposhi, Ultar, and surrounding glaciers are unforgettable. Descend back to camp for a restful evening.
Descend gently to Hamdar, passing meadows, streams, and scattered glacial views. The day offers a relaxed pace to appreciate the alpine scenery and enjoy another starry night at camp.
Complete the trek with a descent to Hoper Village, then drive to Karimabad. Explore the valley or unwind at the hotel after the trek.

Drive through the scenic Hunza Valley to Gilgit, passing rivers, terraced fields, and villages. Enjoy a short local exploration or rest at your hotel.
Transfer to Raikot Bridge and trek to Fairy Meadows beneath Nanga Parbat. Camp amidst alpine meadows with spectacular night skies for stargazing.
Optional full-day trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (3,600m) for awe-inspiring views of the 8,126m peak. Return to Fairy Meadows by evening.
Scenic drive through the Kaghan Valley with alpine lakes and meadows. Overnight stay in Naran.

The trek is moderate to challenging, with long hiking days, glacier crossings, and high-altitude camps. Optional Rush Peak is strenuous and requires good fitness.
